With my innermost circle, I am shamelessly honest but always supportive. ESPECIALLY when it comes to design. A few of my friends have dabbled in Canva, to which I always cheer on their “cute” efforts. I’ve audited a Squarespace website or two in my day to get rid of the tacky templated elements. But when it comes to serious businesses, I don’t mess around.
My former college classmate turned best friend Brittany Paige has a very successful stationery business. Her cards, stickers, pins, and novelty gifts are in around 1000 stores across all 50 states. Watching her grow her business has made me so proud, and with her massive growth I truly felt like she deserved a massive website upgrade. I texted her a few little ideas to plant the seed. You know, just the gentile suggestion here and there. But honesty got the best of me as I quickly revealed my master plans to commandeer her website to totally overhaul the look and feel. Because SHE DESERVED IT, and it was time!
We spent 14 hours one summer Saturday at a little fold out table in my apartment with our laptops deconstructing and redesigning every part of the website bit by bit. The website is largely inspired by bright colors, pop culture, and modern touches. A little bit of Gen-Z zest for our chuegy millennial hearts.
