Cocktail creations are certainly something I romanticize in my weekend plans. I have grown to be very particular about how I like my margaritas on the occasion I make one for myself. In fact, I totally micromanaged our wedding bartender during our tasting at the venue. We went through 3 rounds of cocktails before I wrote down my recipe on a napkin for him on our way out, and hoped for the best on our wedding day. Thank goodness, he totally nailed it – and we called it the “Molinarita”
While I definitely wing it on my recipe each time, I’ll “guestimate” it for you so you can try to create your own Molinarita.
Here’s my micromanaged skinny spicy margarita.
Ingredients:
- Casamigos Blanco (Or tequila of your choice)
- Agave
- Club Soda
- Jalapeños, sliced
- Limes or fresh lime juice
- Ice
Mixology time:
At the bottom of a glass, muddle 2 slices of jalapeño with 1 tablespoon of agave. This infuses the agave with a little zing for that sweet and spicy taste. Loosen it up with the juice of half a lime, or a generous squeeze of fresh lime juice from the bottle.
Add a big handful of ice to the glass. Pour 1-2 oz tequila over the ice and shake vigorously to break up the ice and spread the flavors. Top it off with club soda and give it a final stir.
It should be that sweet to the taste first impression with that spice at the back of the throat burn we love.
Cheers!
